Where are the prices on the cylinders?
The cylinders we offer online are very dynamic. We cannot simply list all the different configurations we can supply. All have to be built by clicking the "Purchase" button and selecting the specific style needed. Once selected, a price, part number, and description will be displayed. At this point, the cylinder can be added to your cart. Once added to your cart, the quantity can be changed if more than one is needed.

What is the difference between a Rod Wiper and a Rod Scraper?
A Rod Wiper is a polyurethane or other polymer type material that cleans the rod as it retracts into the cylinder. A Rod Scraper is a metallic wiper that also cleans the rod. However, a scraper will endure more harsh environments such as weld splatter, abrasive dust, and paint overspray.

What is the life expectancy of your cylinders?
Life Cycle Test Summary
This summary is not a guarantee or warranty of cylinder performance, it is intended to provide assistance in planning preventive maintenance schedule of equipment and selection of appropriate type of cylinder. Tests were conducted in a laboratory environment with clean dry air with no lubrication added after installation, and with no load. Factors such as environment, quality of air, cycle rate, and loading conditions may significantly affect the performance by decreasing the interval between maintenance of cylinders.
EN-Series Cylinders
Testing has demonstrated that under laboratory conditions cylinders could achieve 1,000 miles of rod travel before seal replacement may be required, with other components lasting up and over 3,000 miles of travel before replacement.
NR-Series Cylinders
Testing has demonstrated that under laboratory conditions cylinders could achieve 800 miles of rod travel before replacement.

What is the difference between cushions and bumpers?
Cushions utilize rod spears and bleed holes in the end caps to meter out air and slow the piston rod assembly as it approaches the end of stroke. Cushions do not add to the overall length of the cylinder. There are two types of cushions: fixed and adjustable. Fixed cushions have a bleed hole that only allows a fixed flow of air to vent directly to port. Adjustable cushions use a needle valve to adjust the flow of air before it vents to port.
Bumpers are round molded urethane pieces mounted to the insides of the end caps. They are used to quiet the end of stroke and provide some energy dissipation by preventing the piston from directly hitting the end caps. There are two types of bumpers: End Cap and Silencer. End Cap bumpers are mounted to the end caps on the EN Series. These bumpers can be used with head cushions on all bore sizes except 1 1/2" bore with 5/8” and 1” rod and 2” bore with 1” rod. They can be used with cap cushions on all bore sizes. These style of bumpers add 1/16 (.0625) inches to the overall cylinder length per end. On the NR Series cylinders, bumpers are only available for 9/16” thru 3” bore cylinders.
NOTE: Spring return not available with bumpered head. Spring extend not available with bumpered cap.
Silencer bumpers perform the same function as regular bumpers. However they are mounted to the piston and allow the use of cushions in all situations. They do not add to the overall cylinder length. They do require higher pressures to perform properly.
